Hi Dorinda,

Kudos on this new blog!

I´d like to put in my two cents on this theme. Culture as a term from Latin origin was first recorded in 1440 meaning "the tilling of land," "tend, guard, cultivate, till".
Many people today have an idea of "culture" that developed in Europe during the 18th and early 19th centuries. This notion of culture reflected inequalities within European societies, and between European powers and their colonies around the world. It identifies "culture" with "civilization" and contrasts it with "nature."

I like your comments Monika about culture and about how it comes from the Latin which means to till the land, tend, guard, cultivate ... every group of people has a special way of cultivating life, tending our lives, our gardens, our children, guarding our memories for the future. It will be very interesting to see what others have to say on this topic.

Thanks so much for sharing your ideas.
